Reaction for Pirates of the Silicon Valley

The movie Pirates of Silicon Valley is a 1999 film based on the book Fire in the Valley: The Making of the PC by Paul Freiberger and Michael Swaine. It is a movie made from a docudrama written which states the rise of the home computer (PC) through the rivalry between the inventions of Steve Jobs, the Apple Computer, and the design of the computer software of Bill Gates, the Microsoft.

The movie is really nice and an educational one. It really helps the viewers to learn the “history” on how the Apple Computer exist and so the Microsoft. In the movie, it was divided into two stories, the story of Bill Gates’ Microsoft and Steve Jobs’ Apple. Each story of the said “involved” people in the movie really inspires me a lot. Although both of them can be considered as “hard-headed” type and some kind of weird students, but despite their behavior, they had a great idea which leads them to develop such inventions. Before they had reached their own goals, they had encountered lot of things which can be a good experience or a bad experience for them. But even it is a bad experience for them, they never stop on trying to reach and pursue their goals.

For example, Steve Jobs, he did lot of things before he had finally and successful introduced his invention to some computer company. From a rugged and unmannered man, Steve had changed or had developed his personality into a pleasing one which a businessman should have. He had dressed a formal businessman that gain some respect from his consumers and clients. But as Steve’s Apple computer boosting higher, his head also getting bigger and when he has a personal problem, he usually bring it to his work which is not a professional act. He always got hot-tempered when a personal problem arise and threw it to his employees which gave him a bad impression for his employees.

For Bill Gates, he is ok in terms of managing his work as a CEO Manager. He is an intellectual man which had the guts to settle things which is very complicated.

Both of these persons are really an intellectual man, they had the convincing power and had a good idea on how to make their business grew bigger. They have different business strategies on how to boost up their businesses but they have something common that makes the title to be “Pirates of the Silicon Valley”, which is they keep on stealing or cheating some ideas from other companies or from other people and paid those people whom they had stolen and cheated. It gives me the idea that in succeeding a certain goal, cheating can’t never be absent in the presence of that person and cheating is not really a bad idea but it had helped some person who had not able to show their idea and defend it or let’s say they don’t have the appeal to convince some people about their idea even if this idea is great.

The part in the movie where Bill Gates when to Steve Jobs and made a deal that they will have to work together to be powerful against from their competitors. There is no secret that will never reveal and telling a lie to somebody is not really a good idea and it can even bring you to danger. That’s the reason why Steve Jobs lost his trust to Bill Gates when he found out that Bill Gates had cheated him. Once a trust is gone from the person who trusted you, it is really difficult to gain it back and it leads you to nothing.

One thing also it is really sad to be on top on others even if you had all the wealth, and power, and almost everything, but u don’t have a family behind your success. You don’t have “love” they’ve said from people who really loves you because you close the door in your life for those people. You will soon realize it when you were down in your life and you need support from those people who really loves you.
